Linsday Wiebold
(PRO)
Lindsay Wiebold is joining SAS with a professional background in ski patrol, rescue, outdoor education. An escapee from the state of Ohio, she has made Colorado her home since 2010 and in the winter enjoys all things skiing: powder turns, skimo, actual ski mountaineering, and riding the Pali chair on days off at her home mountain of A-Basin. She started her snow career at Eldora Mountain Resort, becoming a supervisor after two seasons and is currently a Ski Patrol Supervisor at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, where she helps oversee all patrol operations, including snow safety and avalanche mitigation, terrain management, training, accident investigation, and emergency medical procedures. She is a Colorado licensed blaster and route leader for A-Basin, and soon to be a CRAD deployable member. In addition to full time ski patrolling in the winter, Lindsay works as an adjunct faculty member at Colorado Mountain College, where she finds joy teaching both professional and recreational avalanche curriculum as well as WFR, EMT, and climbing courses. Before putting year-round roots down in Summit County, she spent over 10 summers guiding whitewater canoe expeditions throughout Canada and teaching leadership and wilderness skills to high school girls. A lifelong learner, Lindsay has taken courses and holds certifications from AIARE, AAI, SAS, AMGA, CMC, NOLS, and some other organizations known mostly by an acronym. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and helps volunteer for the Summit County Rescue Group in her very limited spare time. In the summer she can be found fixing snow fences and trail signs at A-Basin and convincing just about anybody with a pulse to go rock climbing with her.
