Edutours are the ultimate “learn by doing” experience: Based in Silverton, we’re fortunate to have quick access to one of the best learning grounds in the country, with 13,000’ peaks immediately surrounding town and an endless sea of mountains to explore.

An Edutour will allow you to dive into different topics to build your overall mountain skillset in a fun and supportive environment, with direction from our professional instructors and guides. Skills might include snowpack assessment, mountain navigation, terrain selection, mountain mindsets, winter camping, glacier travel, crevasse rescue and more. You can also opt to focus specifically on one objective. Whether you want to build confidence in your home mountains or dream big, we can create the perfect Edutour for you.

In addition to being professional members of the American Avalanche Association and trained or certified by the American Mountain Guides Association, our staff engage in rigorous training and professional development in best practices for teaching and learning.  We are committed to creating an environment focused on educational  excellence and supporting continued growth for both our students and instructors. 

Our rates for these custom Edutours work on a sliding scale; with more guests, the cost becomes lower. These experiences are fully customizable.
